Teens and College Students
Helping teens and young adults feel steadier, understood, and more like themselves
Adolescence and early adulthood can be overwhelming, especially for teens and college students who feel pressure to succeed, manage stress, or hold things together when they don’t feel okay inside. I work with high school and college-aged clients who are dealing with anxiety, stress, identity formation, trauma, health challenges, or feeling shut down or disconnected from themselves.
Many of the young people I work with are thoughtful, sensitive, and capable, but feel stuck, burned out, or unsure how to talk about what they’re experiencing. Therapy offers a space where they don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have it all figured out.
A Note for Parents & Guardians:
Parents are encouraged to join the initial intake session so we can discuss concerns, goals, and expectations together. As therapy progresses, I work to create a space where teens feel comfortable speaking openly and developing greater confidence, self-awareness, and independence.
I take your teen's privacy seriously while also recognizing that parents are an important part of the process.
I take each teen's privacy and autonomy seriously and generally do not share session details. When appropriate, I'm happy to include parents in occasional check-ins or sessions with the teen's knowledge and consent. My goal is to support your teen while creating a collaborative and trusting relationship with the family.
What Therapy With Me is Like
My approach is calm, supportive, and respectful. I focus on helping young people feel safe enough to slow down, understand what’s happening in their mind and body, and build skills to handle stress in a healthier way. I don’t rush the process or talk down to clients. Instead, we work at a pace that feels manageable and collaborative.
Who this might not be for:
This may not be the best fit if:
Your teen or college student is not willing or open to participating in therapy at all
You’re looking for behavioral-only, or “quick-fix” approach
You’re seeking very short-term therapy only or therapy solely for school accommodations
If you’re unsure, I’m happy to help you think through whether this approach is a good fit or refer you elsewhere.
